Eminence

Fame. It’s sold to us as the penultimate goal in life, as with it comes fortune and access to a world that we cannot reach without it. But why is it that we look to the famous as idols and those we aspire to be? Exclusivity and wealth are held in high regard, over our own lives and day to day living. We want what they have, but we often fail to see what we already have and know. We underrate the importance of anonymity and normality and reach for the things we are told are better. 
If we could look within and find the source of this need for more, we might realise that what we have is already enough. We are already enough. Seeking the external to fix the internal is not a long-term fix. Rather, it can develop a habit of materialism to fill an endless chasm within that will devour everything you feed it relentlessly.
There is nothing wrong with dressing well, having the home of your dreams or spending money on the material items you want in life, but it cannot stop at this. They are temporary, replaceable items that do not sustain happiness.
