Threshold

Threshold
Strong trunks rise from the ground, twisting and stretching upward as if reaching beyond what is visible. Captured in Tokyo, this tree feels less like a static part of the landscape and more like a passage through it. The way the branches open toward the sky creates a sense of movement, a quiet invitation to look up and imagine something beyond the surface of things.
There is no grand monument here. No spotlight. Just a tree standing in its own space. And still, there is something extraordinary in the way it holds itself. The branches curve like a natural archway. A threshold. A point between two places. Not just in geography, but in how we see.
This image is about that shift. The quiet moments when the ordinary becomes unfamiliar. A tree begins to feel like a gateway. Light through leaves carries unexpected meaning. What we might usually pass by instead holds our attention and asks us to stay with it.
Wonder does not always announce itself. It rarely arrives in loud or obvious ways. More often, it lives in stillness. In the unnoticed shapes and textures of everyday life. What matters is that we look closely enough to recognise it.
