Vintage gate

About to cross the bridge on foot I was taking in the breathtaking views of San Francisco Bay, I felt compelled to capture this moment, marking the beginning of this creative journey.

Holidays are among the most anticipated times of my life. The opportunity to venture to new cities and countries around the globe has always been an innate desire of mine. However, the return to normalcy upon arriving home can be rather lacklustre, devoid of the excitement that comes with experiencing something new each day. To alleviate this disappointment, I tend to create visual representations of my adventures abroad. Some of my edits exude a nostalgic aura, enabling me to reminisce about those trips and relish the memories and standout moments. This image encapsulates one of those moments. It was a pleasant autumn day, and as I turned a corner, the Golden Gate Bridge and the entire scene unfolded before me. About to cross the bridge on foot I was taking in the breathtaking views of San Francisco Bay, I felt compelled to capture this moment, marking the beginning of this creative journey.

When editing my images, I employ various techniques such as tone and texture manipulation to convey and evoke the mood initially suggested by the photograph. I aim to convey to the viewer the same sense of nostalgia and charm that a city or scene presents to me, creating a tangible memory that, unlike photos over time, will not fade.

The original photo has been blended with paper textures and tonally adjusted to appear faded and retro, reminiscent of an old photograph discovered in a dusty attic drawer. The warmer tones employed here serve to evoke a summery ambiance, reminiscent of a simple and happy time.
