Stillness fills the room, yet it carries weight. The air feels sharpened, pressing against the senses. There is no danger present, but the body does not believe it. Every sound, every shadow, is scanned for meaning, as though something unseen waits just beyond the edge of knowing.

In Reflection
This is not the loudness of fear but its quieter form, born of memory and survival. It settles in the gut before thought can explain it, a vigilance that refuses to rest. Trauma teaches us to anticipate harm, even when none exists, shaping how we listen, breathe, and remain.

You remain only because of partial recognition. The atmosphere of a moment you have felt before but could not describe. An internal shift. A warning without a sound.

Some threats never arrive. They linger. They shape how we breathe. How we listen. How long we stay. They come from within and until we can recognise them, they remain silent within us.

In My Life
I have known silence that felt heavy, not peaceful but charged with imagined threat. Those moments revealed how past wounds can create a constant readiness, a fear‑based mentality that distorts the present. Silent Threats reminds me that recognising these patterns is the first step toward loosening their hold.
