In View
Pandas exhibit two main modes of operation, playfully clumsy or in the depths of slumber. Observing them in these states prompts reflections on our behavioural extremes. Do we spend too much time in a stressed environment fostering a state of fight or flight, thus reducing our time spent in the parasympathetic nervous system?

In Reflection
Are we overworked, overwhelmed, overstimulated, or underappreciated, leaving us desperately needing some time out? We often ignore the warning signs of stress and burnout, opting to rest later because of our endless list of things to do or finish. Some of this may be true, but our ability to favour stress and fight or flight over relaxation could be to our demise.

The quiet importance of taking time to recalibrate our minds, rest our eyes, exit the rat race, and rather be in the moment is the pinnacle of surviving the urban lifestyle we unknowingly throw ourselves into daily.

In My Life
The sight of pandas resting after play carried a message I needed to hear. I have often ignored my own need for pause, pushing forward even when exhaustion weighed heavily. Their stillness reflected the renewal that comes when we allow ourselves to stop, when we give rest the same value as effort. Time Out continues to remind me that balance is not indulgence, but survival, and that restoration begins in quiet moments.
